We are currently planning activities specifically for students. If you’d like to become involved, please contact us.
Whether you’re an undergraduate, a graduate student or a professional in a postdoctoral fellowship, be sure to plan to attend the student functions at the SETAC North America annual meeting in Minneapolis! Students are an important part of SETAC, and these events give all students an opportunity to exchange ideas, talk with peers from other research facilities, and meet possible mentors for scientific and career advice. We’ve planned events that are informal, interactive and inexpensive.
7:30 p.m. | Exhibit Hall
The silent auction opens Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall and will be open until Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. during the Poster Social. This is a fundraising event that benefits student members and student activities.
11:15 a.m.–1:00 p.m. | Seasons Room | Cost: $10 (Pre-registration is required)
Between the platform sessions on Monday, plan to attend the Student/Mentor Lunch. You can’t afford to miss this opportunity to mingle and dine with a variety of SETAC members. Your participation will strengthen your networks within SETAC and provide a valuable opportunity to discuss scientific topics and career experiences with mentors.
Early Career Social
6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. | Seasons Room | Cost: $10 (Pre-registration is required)
Are you at the beginning of your career? Did you know that SETAC has an entire committee that was recently formed to help you navigate this stage of your life? The SETAC North America Early Career Committee invites you to its first annual Early Career Social during the SETAC Minneapolis meeting. This will be an informal chance for you to make new connections during the meeting while enjoying some light snacks and beverages. We’ll also have some optional activities to help you meet and chat with new people, and we’ll take a few minutes to update you about the SETAC Early Career Committee activities. So reserve your spot when you register for the meeting, or visit the SETAC Store online to add this event to your existing registration. Tickets are only $10! We will see you there!
6:00 p.m. | Exhibit Hall
Don’t forget, the silent auction ends at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday during the Poster Social. This is a fundraising event that benefits student members and student activities.
