I am a SETAC student member. Is there any support for me to attend the annual meeting?
Between student loans and tight budgets, most students might think it impossible to attend a professional conference. But there’s help! SETAC student members can apply for a Student Travel Award, which provides financial support for students planning to present their research at SETAC North America annual meetings.
The award grants up to US $400 in travel aid for undergraduate and graduate students. Monetary funds equal to the Student Travel Award must be provided by the student, the student’s institution, advisor or other source. International applicants are welcome.
All applications must be completed during the abstract submission process. In 2016, more than 100 Student Travel Awards were granted. Visit the SETAC website to learn about requirements and limitations, application materials and information about the evaluation process.

Don’t miss out on your chance to gain the experience and exposure that comes from attending and presenting at a SETAC meeting:
- Stay on top of cutting-edge research while learning about topics that interest you
- Meet leading scientists. (You might have read their work. Wouldn’t it be cool to actually meet them?)
- Present your research to the people who matter in your field
- Connect with students and professionals in your areas of interest
